Helen F. Walden

Helen F. Walden, 79, of Wilburton, died Monday, Nov. 23, 2009, in Fort Smith, Ark.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Jones-Harkins Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Morgan officiating. Burial will be at Damon Valley Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Jones-Harkins Funeral Home of Wilburton.

Born July 24, 1930, in Gowen, she was the daughter of Cary and Beatrice (Walls) May. She attended school in Hartshorne and graduated with the Class of 1949.

She married Carl Walden in 1952 in Oklahoma City. She was a loving homemaker and enjoyed gardening and cooking for her family. She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her husband, Carl, of the home; daughter, Carla Sullivan, of Wilburton; son-in-law, Larry Sullivan, of Wilburton; sisters, Maggie Tyler, San Antonio, Laverne Payne, of California.

Also, grandchildren, Marlena, Nikki Morgan, Brian Sullivan, Gregory Sullivan and Kimberly; great-grandchildren, Dekayetlynn, Kimberly, Li’l Dwayne, Shayle, Daetan, Sydney and Zach and numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cary and Beatrice May; daughter, Debbie Walden; brothers, Larry May and Leo May; sisters, Doris Maddux, Thelma Marlow and Adeline Kline, and sister-in-law, Genievee Walden.

Pallbearers will be Dustin Taylor, Brian Sullivan, Gregory Sullivan, Bubba Dill, Jeremy Jensen and Chad Swafford.

Honorary pallbearer will be H.D. Blankenship.
