Mike McIntosh

Thomas James Michael McIntosh, 52, of McAlester, died Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, at McAlester Regional Health Center.

The family will receive visitors from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Bishop Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Bishop Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Craig Shaw officiating. Burial will be at Tannehill Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service of McAlester.

Born Sept. 27, 1957, in Ventura, Calif., he was the son of Joy Dell Caldwell McIntosh. He moved with his family to the Peaceable area and he attended Savanna School. He then moved to McAlester and graduated from McAlester High School in the Class of 1976. During this time worked for Tastee Freeze.

He married Debra Martin on Jan. 21, 1977, in McAlester. He worked at Hardees, and then Carl’s Jr. becoming general manager at both.

He then owned and operated Mike’s Biscuit and Burger in McAlester for several years until being currently employed at Pliant Corporation as a roll doctor.

He was of the Free Will Baptist faith and enjoyed his grandchildren and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Debra McIntosh, of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Tiffany and Daniel Harmon, of Stillwater; four grandchildren, Dakota Raye Harmon, Cheyenne Nicole Harmon, Sierra Michelle Harmon and Landon Jay Harmon, all of Stillwater.

Also, two sisters, Jan McIntosh, of Texas, and Mary McIntosh, of McAlester; five brothers, Martin “Tad” McIntosh and wife, Sandy, Branson, Mo., Chuck Russell, of McAlester, John Russell, Dalton, Ga., Bill Russell, of Oklahoma City, and Jeff Russell, Fayetteville, Ark.

And, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Oscar and Betty Martin, of McAlester; two brothers-in-law, David Martin and wife, Laurie, of McAlester, and Darrell Martin, Sherman, Texas.

And, two sisters-in-law, Donna Young and husband, James, of Ardmore, and Denise Shaw and husband, Craig, of Collinsville; two special friends, Shelia Strode and Marina Waldron, of McAlester, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Joy Russell; two sisters, Jackie McIntosh and Susan McIntosh; a nephew, Kyle Joseph Russell, and a niece, Jennifer Russell.

Pallbearers will be Alan Martin, Joe Martin, James Young, Jimmy Young, Kyle Hensley and John Jarrett.

Honorary pallbearers will be Daniel Harmon, David Martin, Darrell Martin, Leroy Conner, Tony Sears and Vecoe Hensley.
