Donnie Ray Lemons, of Calera, died Friday, Nov. 13, 2009, in Calera.
Family hour will be from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Coffey-Murray Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Coffey-Murray Chapel in Durant with Pastor Larry Harrington officiating. Burial will be at Rosehill Cemetery in Calera. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Coffey-Murray Funeral Home of Durant.
Born Sept. 5, 1946, in McAlester, he was the son of Jess and Robbie (Falkner) Lemons. He married Louise Cummins on July 18, 1969, in Durant.
He served aboard the USS Constant and on PBRs, running up and down the Mechong River during the Vietnam War. He retired from the military after more than 20 years of service. He then retired again after 20 years with Stahl Manufacturing in Durant.
He was a member of New Beginnings Apostolic Church in Calera.
He enjoyed watching Fox News at home, traveling with his wife, paint and body work, fishing and gardening. But mostly, he enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter and the rest of his family.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Lemons, of the home; sons, Ricky Lemons, of Calera, and Michael Lemons, of Calera; granddaughter, Adalina Lemons, of Calera, and numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Aplin, David Faulkner, Eddie Faulkner, Cecil Smith, Otis Cummins, Royce Cummins, Henry Cummins and Robbie Cummins.
Honorary pallbearers will be Leon Richardson and Brandon Rudolph.
