Jacque Nicholson, 54, of Wilburton, died Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009, at her home near Wilburton.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Haileyville First Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Russell officiating. Burial will be at Talihina Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of Hartshorne.
Born April 12, 1955, in Oklahoma City, she was the daughter of William E. “Bill” and Rubye (Blalock) McKinney. She married Jim Nicholson in May 1987 in Hot Springs, Ark. She had lived in this area for the past 26 years and had previously lived in the Clayton/Talihina area. She was currently the assistant editor of the Hartshorne Sun newspaper. She had previously worked at newspapers in Clayton, Talihina and Wilburton.
She enjoyed traveling and gardening, was a member of the Garden Club, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary and the Oklahoma Press Association.
She was a member of Clayton Baptist Church.
Survivors include husband, Jim Nicholson, of the home; stepdaughter, Dana Malone, of Wilburton, and two sisters, Merry McKinney Cheek, of Nicoma Park, and Janice McKinney Cheek, of Nicoma Park.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers, William E. McKinney Jr., John L. McKinney and Charles David McKinney.
Pallbearers will be Brett Selby, Parker Selby, Riley Selby, Clint Vincent, Jerry Vincent and Thomas Farris.
Memorials may be made to the Hartshorne Garden Club or to the Friends of the Library.
