Ioan Faye Stewart Dorton
Ioan Faye Stewart Dorton, 89, of Chancellor’s Village, Fredericksburg, Va., formerly of McAlester, died Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009.
Her family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday at Bishop Funeral Service in McAlester.
Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Oak Hill Cemetery in McAlester. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service.
Born March 19, 1920, in Glen Jean, W.Va., she was the daughter of Robert Edward and Margaret Kennedy Stewart.
She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of McAlester.
Survivors include her daughters, Lois “Sug” Clingenpeel and her husband, Randall R. Clingenpeel, Fredericksburg, Va., and Linda D. Kauffelt and her husband, Michael K. Kauffelt, Chatham, Va.; her son-in-law, Johnny E. Hardin, of Norman.
Also, her grandsons, Phillip H. Clingenpeel, Boston; Michael K. Kauffelt II and his wife, Doris Kauffelt, Pittsburg, Pa., and their six daughters, Tara Jane, Elizabeth, Emily, Mary Kate, Rebecca, and Michaela; Robert J. Kauffelt, and his wife, Darla Kauffelt, Dry Fork, Va., and their three children, Hunter, Heather, and Harris; and Christopher J. Hardin, of Norman, and her sister, Edna Mae Whitt, of Buffalo, Ind.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Elmo Dorton; her daughter, Debra Lynn Hardin; her grandson, Adam Stuart Clingenpeel, and five siblings.
