Glenn Gene Smith Sr.

Glenn Gene Smith Sr., 65, of McAlester, died Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010, at his home.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at North Town Cemetery with the Rev. Marvin Dunn and the Rev. Darren Schoggins officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service of McAlester.

Born Oct. 30, 1944, in McAlester, he was the son of John T. and Gladys Reba (Winters) Smith. He had worked as a truck driver for Twin Cities Ready Mix.

He enjoyed Oklahoma University Sooner football, music and playing guitar.

He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Roscoe, of the home; son, Glenn Smith Jr., Jacksonville, Ark.; daughters, Cindy Morgan, of McAlester, Diana Smith, of Wayne, and Tammy Smith, of Purcell; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

Also, stepchildren, Kathy Schoggins and husband, Darren, of McAlester, Debbie Seamon and husband Dixie, of McAlester, Kim Hanson and husband, Ed, of Georgia, and Keila Roscoe, of McAlester; 11 stepgrandchildren; two great-stepgrandsons.

And, brothers, Johnny Lee Smith, of Shawnee, Bob Gregg, of McAlester, and Chester Smith, of California, and a sister, DeDe Beale, Garland, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his father, John T. Smith; mother, Gladys Reba Cameron, and sister, Dorothy Brashier.

Honorary pallbearers will be Norman Ryder, Doyle Ryder, Johnny Lloyd Smith and Dixie Seamon.
