George William Painter Sr.

George William Painter Sr., died Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009, in Calvin.

Private family services will be held. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home of Holdenville.

Born July 9, 1948, in Tulare, Calif., he was the son of Johnnie and Violet (Stacks) Painter.

He enjoyed hunting, singing, and driving across the river to visit family and friends. He had been an avid church member for two years.

Survivors include his brother, Johnnie Painter Sr., Houston; sister, Sharon Vanzandt, Corcoran, Calif.; daughters, Georgette Hancock, of Calvin, Tammy Hopkins, Shafter, Calif., and Misty Jameson, Bakersfield, Calif.; and one son, George Painter Jr., Amarillo, Texas; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Johnnie Painter; mother, Violet Painter, and a great-grandson, J.D. Stout.
